This is a report about the Olympic villas at dusk and the mythical HOMKO CLUB.
I have been to this place quite a few times now, and I have already written a first report about Imperial Garden Villas, explaining how and why this unfinished-abandoned luxury villa compound can be found in the middle of a public park in Beijing. I really like the place, even if it feels strange inside the compound, especially at dusk, when you know that the zombies attack more easily after the sunset.
The HOMKO CLUB
This derelict clubhouse was an pretty incredible place to explore. It was almost finished when the project got interrupted and went in decay so one can notice many details in the building. The contrast with the old 1998 advertisement video is so extreme that I must show the video in this post too, so amazing:
The swimming pool was obviously my favorite element in the building.
The dome over the swimming pool is extremely photogenic.
In the clubhouse, all the rooms had very interesting floor and ceiling decorations: it really was a project of exclusive and luxurious taste.
One can also find other rooms worth visiting: the sauna near the pool, the bar/restaurant/karaoke/dancing rooms, the kitchen, the attic, etc…
The villas at dusk
After visiting the clubhouse, I did some exploration in the site, until it was dark.
I could take more pictures of inside the villas, even if they are very dangerous places to explore. The fireplaces were always extremely fascinating.
But as the night was slowly arriving, the alleys and villas became more and more frightening: it felt as if the houses without doors and windows, with all their different (unfinished) architectural designs, were watching us…
According to the interviews I did, it seems that this place will finally be rehabilitated and not demolished. The repairs could begin in a few months. Brïn, if you want to keep on bothering the lonely lady by writing graffity on her body, you should hurry because she might get new neighbours soon!
