The failed revitalisation project of a Tai She Wan 大蛇灣 abandoned village
In this new report, I present my latest visit to a failed project of holiday resort, located in a remote bay near Sai Kung. What is interesting about it is that it was implemented as a way to revitalize the ghost village of « snake bay » (大蛇灣) back in 2006. But it never succeeded. Owners changed over time but the project never took off: the resort’s last name was « Club Captain Bear ». The holiday resort’s entire compound is now in a state dereliction (except for one inhabitant). You can find well documented insights and earlier pictures of this place in the report below:

So as it comes after many others (better ones!), in English and in Cantonese, I only publish my report as a way to confirm that the place was still abandoned in 2018.
The ferry pier was still sinking into the water, the buildings were still empty…

Creepy mechanical zoo
Inside the compound, one could still see various remains of the holiday resort.

Abandoned pool
Behind the resort, there was a dried out swimming pool with strange objects inside: corals, ancient style statues…

To conclude, it was a very funny spot to hang out and enjoy a beautiful hike in the Sai Kung area. I highly recommend it!
